  • Scholarships and Financial Aid:
    Complete the Free Application for Federal Aid (FAFSA) at studentaid.gov. When applying for financial aid, there are various types of aid that students may be eligible to receive: grants, scholarships, loans, and work study. There are differences between each type of aid and it is important to consider these differences when reviewing your financial aid awards. Transfer students will be evaluated for scholarships based upon their admissions application, including official transcripts.
  • Tuition and Fees:
    Total Day Students Direct Cost: $11,380 In-State Tuition and Fees; $17,460 Out-of-State Tuition and Fees; $11,866 New England Regional Tuition and Fees.

  • Accepts Transfers:
    FSU welcomes more than 600 transfer students each year from community colleges and four-year institutions. We invite students to apply for admission for the fall or spring semester.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    The following minimum standards have been established for transfer students: 12-23 transferable college credit and a 2.50 college GPA; or Up to 23 transferable college credit, a 2.00 college GPA, and a high school transcript that meets the admissions standards for freshman applicants (SAT I required); or 24 or more transferable college credit and a 2.00 college GPA. Some programs of study require higher GPAs.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Official transcripts from all colleges and universities ever attended must be submitted. Submit an official, final high school transcript indicating date of graduation.
  • SAT Scores:
    Official SAT or ACT scores are required, unless: (1) the applicant has a high school graduation date of more than three years ago; or (2) the applicant has completed 24 or more credit hours at the time of application.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a $50 fee to apply – you may pay the fee at the time of application or submit a fee waiver. Transfer application fee waivers are available through NACAC or official campus visit.
  • Other Requirements:
    Applicants who have not been attending college continuously since graduation from high school or have any gaps in their educational history must submit a resumé or summary of activities which accounts for all time periods since leaving high school.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Transfer credit is given only for courses in which the student received a grade of C- or higher.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    There is no limit to the amount of credit which can be transferred. In order to graduate with a degree from FSU, students must complete a minimum of 32 semester hours (8 courses).
